Life after Roland is a 7 track album that aims to highlight and tackle genre conventions within electro, specifically the use of vintage drum machines. The core message of the album is that in order for electro to evolve into something contemporary, attempts must be made at detaching from retro aesthetics.

The album features a variety of styles both compositionally and timbral design. In the creation of the album, Maurice wanted to explore a wide variety of different styles within the drums and composition of the music while creating overall continuity. To highlight the deep exploration, he chose to pick a handful of less orthodox ways of making drums.

The most consistently used method throughout the album is the design of a basic set of drum sounds within Max/MSP, while physical modeling synthesis also features among others.

Accompanying the album will feature an improvised mashup performance of the album and an interview with electro artist Volruptus.
